sapphire was happy. truly and honestly happy. she didn't exactly find joy in sleeping around like there was no tomorrow but she was still happy. plus she could try and cause leo some headaches which to be perfectly honest was the best part of her day. because they were in the same house and same year they were forced to see a lot of each other just today. double potions with just the hufflepuffs. honestly sapphire was about to murder herself. it didnt help at all that their professor had decided placing leo and sapphire together would be a good idea. while she did have to admit that leo was smart and this would bump up her crappy notes of grades she didn't want to partner with him. she almost just wanted to fight with the professor and run out of class. these two house were gonna be long.
with a soft sigh sapphire grabbed all her stuff and moved over to leo's table, their assigned table for the project. she basically slammed them down and gave the professor an evil look then propped her head on her hands, her elbows on the table. she looked at leo, without exactly wanting up, from her eyes lashes. "i'm not doing work," she told him straight up, no hello or anything. to her any boy that wanted to brag about taking someone's virginity at fourteen, well that was just wrong. she raised an eyebrow almost inviting him to challenge her. however insulted she felt to be partnered up with leo she wasn't about to be bored for the double potions, she might as well have some fun with him, poke at him and fight. sapphire didn't have anything better to do, it's not like her grade could get worse. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 296! notes: LOW ENOUGH FOR YA?!

leo was in his prime. his friends ruled the school, academically and socially. winter dominated classes, marvel won everyone over with his smile and love for his sweetheart, and then leo would rule during party season. unfortunately, there was also the queen of parties, with whom he had to share his throne. could he help what happened between the two of them? looking back, probably. did he care? not in the least. to him, sapphire was a distant memory of things he really didn't care about. yes they were each other's first time, but that was the only time, and there would be many more times with other people later on. what did it matter to him if a stupid ex-friend just shut him out of her life? he simply didn't. though at times he did miss the relationship they once had, sneaking into one another's tree houses back home and watching saturday cartoons.
despite all this, it didn't make him smile when they were paired up. of course, he gave a very audible groan, which made a couple other hufflepuffs laugh and then cough after getting glared at by the teacher and a few goodie-goodies. now, once she came to the table, and then made the scene that she did, leo didn't so much as blink. he just looked at her with a blank stare, lips neither curled or pursed, "fine. i didn't expect you to work anyway." leon leblanc did not need a hello from someone he didn't see fit to be a friend, or even an acquaintance. it was going to be a very long period, and he didn't feel like dealing with her. they often fought, especially when cosette had her over at the house during break. but that wouldn't be an issue. he was going to cannes for the next break.

sapphire couldn't exactly say she knew anything about any subject taught at hogwarts. sapphire could paint, that was basically her big talent. she painted like a true beautiful artist and she didn't think twice about her paintings. but painting wasn't her only talent. if people were to count drinking, and dancing and sex as talents then sapphire had plenty of them and she was rather good at them. but anything related to books she was a zero, she wasn't book smart and the only tutor that had ever actually taught her everything was a douche. however because she had passed her first three years and part of her fourth with flying colors she did retain some of the information. the information she had retained was what she used to barely pass her course now, which wasn't exactly usable but it gave a passing grade.
sapphire quickly rolled her eyes at leo when he spoke. she almost wished it was double potions with gryffindors that way cosette could have been then to do her thing and help her not kill her brother. sapphire began to fiddle with things out of boredom as leo worked on the potion. she look over every few seconds to make sure nothing was about to explode then continue to basically doddle into her notebook. finally after not even five minutes of silence, just between them the classroom was full of chatter, sapphire turned to him. "how's it coming? gonna blow anything up?" she asked her tone just as mean as she always was with leo. she had no patience with him, hell she had her best friends temper when it came to leo, not that she minded exactly. yelling at leo was just as pleasuring to sapphire as sex was... decent sex that is. she placed her pen down and looked over into the cauldron curiosity taking over her. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 312! notes: YOU'RE WELCOME THEN!

leo's talents weren't so much academic as they were artistic, and it was a trait he unknowingly shared with his rival and ex-flame, if that's what you would call it. he considered it more of a trist. no matter what their rendez-vous was, they had a lot more in common than what he liked to admit, which sometimes was a bit of a pain. his main hobbies and talents consisted of art, more specifically calligraphy, and then a musical prowess which most would beg for. leo had a natural ear for chords, flats, sharps, and then the dexterity to actually go from one to the other on whatever instrument he pleased (that he had experience with, that is.) so far he had mastered the guitar and the basics of classical singing and technique, as well as piano. during the summer he had hoped to start learning to play the drums, but unfortunately he hadn't had as much time as he needed to nail down the different rhythm per each hand.
but music wasn't going to get him a job as an adult. as much as music was a passion for him, he wouldn't have the heart to pursue a career in it, in the magical world or otherwise. it was for this reason that he focused on his studies a lot. plus, his father was a ministry official, and so he could basically start out in whatever department he chose once out of school (and after testing.) it was this reason that school was important to him. with his sister being so smart, he had to keep up. he looked to sapphire and nudged her a little bit away from the cauldron, frowning. "be careful. you don't know what reaction will happen. do you want your eyebrows blown off?" and almost on cue, the cauldron's contents burst into flames, quickly quelling. "jesus."

sapphire had tried to study but she never got the hang of it. never go the grasp she needed to stay focused. she could stay focused on other things like her draws but never books about boring things. she was usually that girl in the class who'd ask when they were going to use this in real life. she was loud in class and outspoken and usually made a scene, not that it bothered her greatly what people thought of her. she already heard the whispers and the laughs, and the points. sapphire was slut and people knew it. and she also knew how the talk was completely flipped when it came to leo. though sapphire had gotten over the fourth year incident, at least the losing it part, she still doesn't understand how leo was pictured as a king among woman. while sapphire was the slut to pass around men. which truth be told pissed her the fuck off.
sapphire wouldn't have said anything to him though. talking to him about anything clearly meant that he had won the let's never speak to each other again silent battle they had grown into. sapphire just wanted to slap him, really hard across the face and then smirk and walk away. but that wasn't going to happen, not when leo was at the top the party scene... well sapphire was right there with him so there wasn't much he could do about that. ever since fourth year they'd fought with each other for everything, who got the most sex, who got the better sex, the hotter sex, who could rule the party scene, who was hotter. anything they could find they competed. it was always a competition and sapphire hated to lose. sapphire glared at him as he nudged her away from the cauldron. "doubt that would happen," as soon as the words left her mouth the cauldron exploded into flames. sapphire's eyes widen in shook. "no, that was supposed to happen. that's what happens during this potion preparation... see? it says so right here?" leo grunted and then showed her the section of the book to which he was referring, "you would know that if you were following along, but you're not. so please be careful. thank you." he couldn't help but get a little bit annoyed. he never was one to do all the work. but, frankly, he saw it better than sapphire huffing and puffing and complaining if he did ask her to help out a little bit. another thing was that he had a reputation to keep up as a very kind man to women, which he generally was. he never left after sex (right away) unless the women asked, he always gave them a gift or treated them to lunch after their one time together, and most of them he could even call friends. he just didn't want a relationship. he didn't see the point since, as a student, he really knew nothing of the real world yet.
but it got him a nice title of king of the babes. frankly it wasn't that bad of a title but not something he wanted to be known for. winter was known for his brain, marvel his heart, and tyler was just all around a fun guy to hang out with. and then leo liked chicks. it seemed a weird combination of friends, with an even weirder tendency for people to pick one of them as a favorite and cling for dear life. but he couldn't help but think about sapphire's reputation. after all, did she know that she was considered a whore? part of him really hoped she didn't. no one deserved that, not even sapphire. if a woman wanted to have a bunch of sexual partners, then that was her choice and no one should judge. but that was wishful thinking on the part of leo.

sapphire considered herself extremely hard to get along with. the only reason she had been best friends with the leblancs was because she grew up next to them. she was sure otherwise cosette would have never talked to her and what happened in fourth year wouldn't have happened. she could still remember it, they'd been fourteen and quite silly just playing seven minutes in heaven. when they got placed together sapphire didn't have a problem with it because she knew leo. they kissed for a little bit and he was quite good even for his young age. however as the seven minutes turned to ten minutes to half an hour and things got heated. sapphire remembered being stuck in that closet for at least an hour before one of the friends came back remembering they had left them there. in retro spec they could have probably done nothing at all and just sat and chatted but they hadn't and sapphire wasn't about to regret that night. sapphire's goal in life was to never regret anything.
sapphire looked down at the notebook leo had basically thrown at her. she looked down at all the instructions then at the cauldron. sapphire wiggled her eyebrow once before looking back at the cauldron then at the instructions then at ryder. "it says you have to add green twigs now before the cauldron explodes for a second time," sapphire wasn't stupid enough to read directions and notice he wasn't putting anything into the cauldron. she wasn't too keen on helping him or doing anything with him but she didn't want the cauldron exploding. she continued to watch him as he worked then looked around the classroom noticing everyone in their own little bubble. she looked back at him from her seat. "why'd you wanna brag so badly?" the question was out before she could help it. to be honest the girl was growing a little bored and if she was gonna have to deal with him she might as well get some answers out of it. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 339! notes: <3333

"thanks sapph." the old nickname slipped out, and on the outside, he did not make it seem like that affected him whatsoever. however, on the inside he was panicking. how stupid was he?! of course he would call her something that he had not brought up for how many some odd years. after all they were friends above everything else before that fateful night in their fourth year. they would be out from dawn until dusk playing ball in the street or camping out in his tree house, sometimes even without cosette. it was nice, from what he remembered. but leo also kept in mind that his actual thoughts may have been clouded with the delusions of grandeur that most kids had while reminiscing with themselves. did that mean he was being completely cloudy-minded? no. he was sure that some of it was fun, but he was also sure that most of it was probably less fun and amazing as he remembered to be.
leon threw the twigs in and then froze in an awkward spot as he was questioned about the bragging. no. she was not serious right now. that was not a conversation he ever wanted to have, let alone have in a double potions classroom, with everyone in their house in ear shot. it was not fair to him and it was not exactly too polite to ask about it now in the first place. "we are not having this conversation right now miss whitby. we can talk about it later when people are not around, hm? let alone in a class. how about we focus on getting a good mark on this assignment." grades above all. he had to keep repeating it in his head. it was better than facing the dilemma before him. if there was one thing that leon was not good at, it was definitely fessing up to things that he did wrong. it's not like he meant to be a complete jerk. it just got him excited that he was the first person to do that out of the group.

sapphire's heart stopped. she hadn't heard those two words uttered from his lips in a long time. she watched as he continued to work her eyes wondering towards his lips. she couldn't help herself as her mind began to wander. the problem with talking to leo, even though she hated to was it always caused to think of their fourth year. he'd always been her biggest what if. what if they hadn't slept together? what if she hadn't bragged? she eyed him now carefully, seventeen, older, and though she hated to admit it, so much hotter. she wondered if growing up beside each other would have taken it's toll on them now, pushing them closer together as friends almost forcing feelings to surface. alas that hadn't happened. sapphire hadn't been exactly saint virgin when she'd lost it to leo, but she'd been a virgin. she hadn't cried about it. she hadn't wanted a relationship with leo because back then, and now, she hadn't felt like that towards him. he was always leo, her best friend. actually it was always the leblancs, her best friends. but she had fucked that up all by herself. cosette had just been nice enough to not make a huge deal about it, not to mention naive enough about it.
sapphire hadn't exactly thought much about leo as the years had gone by. he'd hung out with his group and she'd hung out with hers. sapphire had vara and cosette, vara to party and get drunk with and cosette to take care of. though vara already had enough on her plate. sometimes sapphire wondered if that would have been her if she had begun to gone out with leo, if she could have fallen pregnant and given birth at the hospital wing at hogwarts. she shuddered slightly still recalling winter caring the very pregnant vara down flights of stairs. how he had done it, no one knew but sapphire guessed it was that father strength they got right before they became fathers, even at fifteen. that's when the question slipped out. she just wanted to know why he had to go and ruin something perfect. sapphire had been ready to just be friends and more with leo and then he had to go and brag and brag that he had slept with sapphire. without knowing leo had started the labeling of sapphire a slut, who else would lose it in their fourth year? his tone caused her to sigh slightly as she eyed the book once more. "i just wanted to know. i'm sorry... besides it's not like anybody's listening," she pressed on. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 436 notes: rambled just for you <3

there was something that leo never told anyone. he did not tell winter. he did not tell tyler. and well of course he didn't tell marvel either. he had wanted to ask sapphire on a date prior to their sleeping together, and well, one thing led to another and he didn't have the chance to. he hypothesized that part of the reason why he bragged so much was because, frankly, he was so happy to have actually done it with someone that he was friends with and close to in that sense. he was young, and had no idea that that sort of bragging could have been detrimental to her character. it didn't occur to him at all. but by the time he did realize this fact, it was too late and there was little room for repair. he had tried, of course. he started getting into fights with guys over trash talking sapphire, or even implying she was easy. though, after a stern talking to from cosette after marvel jumped into one of the fights, he stopped picking them. it also didn't help that eventually, yeah. sapphire turned into a skank. it actually made him a little sad a lot of the time. he missed the old sapph, and he would be friends, or maybe even more, with the old sapph if she came back to him.
"listen... sapph... i get why you'd want to know, i just don't know if i want to talk about it in front of everyone, regardless of if they're listening." the brunette male frowned and continued on with his work. but part of him had nothing but questions internally. why was it, that the couple who was sexually monogamous fell pregnant and not them? given, they were just as young and presumably just as rearing to go, but well, prior to the birth of winter's daughter, and his own god-daughter, leo was never safe. afterwords though, he always made a point to be. having a kid was in his plan book, but not while he was still in school. he worried for his best friend. after all, winter and vara weren't together anymore, and he knew that actually settling on a place for the baby to permanently live wouldn't make either parent happy. if it was his child he would've insisted adoption, but vara was completely against that option in the first place. "if you really need a reason, just look at the situation. i was a kid that just had sex with a girl i had wanted to go on a date with anyway. and plus.... boobs. that's exciting to a man to this day."

sapphire had been broken. completely and utterly by the words that leo had spoken about her. one day she'd been a lovely girl, who people thought of flirty but nothing more. then the next day she was the school's biggest slut. and she had no idea why. until vara had told her what leo was talking about. it nearly broke her. she refused to come out of her dorm for a few days. made up the classes with vara's and cosette's notes. she confined herself to her dorm until she stopped being sorry for herself. until the night she had sex. it was just sex from then on. she had no more images of finding her prince charming and falling in love and for the rest of her life making love. hopefully kinky and rough love but still love. to sapphire it was only sex, and she was happy. at least she forced herself to pretend she was happy for the sake of not breaking down on herself on how stupid it was to do what she was doing. she could only dream of the things that people talked about. it was usually much worse than what she was willing to do. people never under stood though.
sapphire's eyes remained on the book as the leo spoke following the instructions all the while. she didn't want to look at him. all she wanted to do was whine and whine until he cracked and told her everything. she just wanted him to tell her that he hadn't meant it. that it had been an accident. that having sex with her was the biggest mistake of his life, next to bragging about it. sapphire wanted to hear so many things from him but she knew how little if anything she would get. her eyes for some odd reason found his just as he began to talk. and sapphire listened and stared trying to tell herself it was lie. she wasn't presisicly happy with what he spoke but she was more rather shocked. she had prepared herself for him to admit he had been a dumbass but not for one key part of his little speech. she hadn't been prepared for that part. "you were gonna ask me out?" her words were barely above a whisper, she didn't want to hear them as she spoke. she could believe him but at the same time not. he could have just been saying that to gain an advantage with him. then again he could have been telling the truth. "i would've said yes," her eyes looked over at a wall as she spoke. her mind racing, she was lost in her own thoughts. the what ifs rolled around in her head one after the other like bullets. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 463 notes: eight minutes <3

"yeah. i liked you since we were thirteen. i actually am a little surprised that your friends didn't tell you. i thought it was pretty obvious... and well, cosette can never keep a secret. not sure if vara knew. i wouldn't be surprised if she had got it out of winter during that lovey-dovey gross relationship they had. nonetheless, i can't believe they never said anything to you, even after the incident." it was true that he was jealous of winter and also of marvel. it wasn't so much about the girls they were with. cosette was stupid as a brick socially and leo's sister at this point, and vara was... really really freaking scary sometimes and had a kid. but they knew how to treat a man. he knew that winter still got along with her and didn't hesitate in showing affection to her. he chose not to say anything for fear of getting punched. cosette and marvel on the other hand had been going strong for how many years now. marvel loved her to the moon and back, and she him. part of leon wanted that. he wanted a girl to spoil and kiss and cuddle and caress when he wanted to. he wanted to be able to crawl into bed with a woman and have the option to not have sex. he wanted to just feel loved, and it was a connection that he could never make with anyone. if he made eye contact, girls would shy away. if he tried being romantic, they would laugh in his face.
so he figured he had one option. he would go to france and find a nice girl that knew nothing of him, and charm her and groom her into the perfect wife that would eventually raise his children. lost in his thoughts, he almost didn't hear sapphire's admission to him after the questioning. she would have said yes? leo couldn't hide the slight smile on his face. it was almost boyish in his own right. but he had to remember, that didn't mean she would say yes now, and so it was better not to actually give any emotion as a response. the smile faded off his face and he became indifferent once more, looking over to her and then shrugging. "doesn't matter now, does it? i mean we both didn't do anything and it's not like we would date one another now." it's true. he wouldn't. well he would if she acted like her old self. it actually hurt him to see the sweet girl he once knew letting herself be used up at parties by any old guy. it hurt that she would even flirt with his friends. there were too many wounds that they had given each other to just start over. if they ever would date again, there would have to be a lot of talking, and even more healing to do afterwords. both could forgive, but neither would ever forget their past.

sapphire wasn't a weak girl. she never had been. even as a first year she'd been head strong and optimistic. she was always like that. however she had leo and cosette to thank. growing up next door to them had been a privilege. she would never trade her childhood for anything, even if it led to fourth year. leo had been her first kindergarden kiss to which they both made gross faces after words. and cosette had always been there to lower her when she was getting out of it. cosette had been an extremely close friend to sapphire but the girls had turned out completely different. at the moment cosette was in a committed relationship and had been since basically first year while sapphire... well committed wasn't in the girls vocabulary. at least not as she grew older. sapphire always wondered what could of, would of, what if she never lived next to the leblancs? for one she was sure cosette and her wouldn't be friends and leo, well leo would have not looked twice at her. sapphire knew she wasn't a looker but she acted like she was. plus she had boobs, it gave her an advantage she liked.
as he spoke sapphire tried to block his words out. no, that wasn't happening he wasn't actually telling her all these things. sapphire didn't want to hear them but at the same time she was yearning to hear the entire story. the way her heart was beating, that was a different story. she cringed softly at the mention of the incident and thought back to right after. now that she thought about it cosette had been trying to tell her something about leo but all sapphire would do is curse his name. eventually cosette had given up. sapphire shook her head in agreement to his words. "i think cosette tried to tell me... but i wouldn't let her. i was too caught up in hating you," the past tense word slipped in. while back then her hatred for leo was much larger than now, she wasn't sure hate would be the right word. did she hate him? she didn't think so. she looked up at him and could have sworn on her life she saw him smile before it was smashed away. sapphire thought nothing of it, the potion must have been going right. his words killed her. she had no idea what sort of effect they had until she was processed them. it's not like we would date one another now she wasn't exactly sure as to why she was so hurt, it was true. but sapphire felt the sting of rejection hitting her. she simply swallowed her feelings down. "right. you and me. i'd rather date vara's brother," while he was cute, vara's brother, he was nothing compared to leo. sapphire felt as her insides began to melt away. she was actually sure what she was supposed to be feeling now. she should have been glad, never dating leo. then again, she wasn't. sapphire was sad, sadder than she would ever admit. tag: leo/mimi <3 word count: 516 notes: idk how i feel about this reply.
