I’M FALLING APART I’M BARELY BREATHING , WITH A BROKEN HEART THAT’S STILL BEATING ,& in the pain there is healing , --------------------------------------------------------------------- It was strange to think that this would be his last year at Hogwarts. He’d grown so much as a person and a Keeper. Jesse Creevey stood in the astronomy tower, looking out to the lake at sunset, his arms resting along the railing that prevented students and teachers from falling to the ground below. He had the sleeves of the plaid overshirt he was wearing pushed up to just below his elbows. Summer had changed him, and in a good way. The bracelet on his wrist reminded him of it, he met a girl over the summer. She was a muggle from what he understood, but she was stunning. He’d be lying if he said he didn’t develop feelings for this girl, but he never would get to ever be with her. She was from a totally different world than what he was from. Besides, she’d be going off to University after she graduated from school and he would… well he had no idea. He could go work for the Daily Prophet, but he hated that trash. Could he make it in the world of professional Quidditch? Probably not, he was good, but he wasn’t that good.
A soft sigh escaped his soft lips as the cool breeze from the lake tousseled his already messy blonde hair. He imaged that even his brat little brothers figured out what they were going to do once they were done school. He knew his dad wanted him to get into something with photography, but Jesse wasn’t sure if that was his path in life, he just didn’t know. Yeah, he had a year to figure it out, but a year was very little time, especially if you had to know what you needed to do with your life by the end of it. He wasn’t clever enough to be an Auror, and he didn’t exactly want to work for the Ministry. He just didn’t know and it drove him mad, not knowing what to do. Jesse turned so his back was leaning against the railing, his mind wandered all over the place. Then he realized that right now, he just needed to worry about the present and not the future. Easier said than done though, he’d always worry about what was to come in the near future.
Then he wondered about the girl he met over the summer. He remembered the long walks in the park, the moonlit nights where she’d stolen her parents liquor and met him under the willow tree. He remembered the kiss under the bridge and the fight they had a few days before he had to come back here. Being the hopeless romantic he is, he spent the night on her front porch steps, needless to say, they made up that morning. It brought a light smile to his face as he shoved his hands into his pockets. His dad did tell him to maybe not get that close to someone who was a muggle, but he didn’t feel the need to listen to him. His grandparents were muggles, but they were both muggles. Jesse was a wizard and the girl was a muggle. No magic. He sighed again, he missed her. Truly he did.

Brooklynn's cheeks were flushed from the cool air and the wind whipping against her face while she had been sitting in the courtyard. The outside world was always a nice change when compared to being tucked away safely in her icy cold dungeon dorms. That was one of the largest downfalls of being a snake. The rooms were hidden in the dungeons, so they were always freezing cold. She had to wear extra layers just so that she could sleep comfortably. Right now she was wearing only one simple layer over her thin, cotton tank top. She had thrown on her Slytherin sweatshirt, a plain black hoodie with the Slytherin crest on the back. The castle felt warm and inviting as she stepped through the large, wooden doors. Her shoes cast loud echoing noises as she walked along the stony hallways.
No specific directions in mind, she wandered around. She found herself walking up the enchanted stairs, skipping the random disappearing step in the second floor staircase. "Woah," she mumbled with a soft laugh as she nearly tripped over her own feet, catching her balance by scrambling to grab the railing. She pushed her hair over her eyes and continued on her way up, up, and even further up. As she walked, her unknown destination was coming much closer. She let her feet guide her in whichever direction they decided to follow at the moment. Within moments, she found herself pushing open the heavy door to the astronomy tower.
However, she wasn't alone up here. Brooklynn's cheeks flushed as she noticed the older boy. She recognized him a bit, but she wasn't positive of what his name was. With a small intake of breath, she took a few steps in. "Hi, there. My name's Brooklynn, but you can call me Brooke," she spoke confidently, tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "Do you mind if I join you?" she asked politely, shutting the door behind her softly so that it would not disturb anybody who might be lurking nearby. She ventured a bit further into the room to get a better look at the boy, but she could not place a name to the face.

I’M FALLING APART I’M BARELY BREATHING , WITH A BROKEN HEART THAT’S STILL BEATING ,& in the pain there is healing , --------------------------------------------------------------------- The young Creevey looked over as he heard someone coming up the stairs to the tower. Regaining his posture, he uncrossed his arms and shoved his hands into his pockets as he saw a girl come into the tower. His light blue eyes roamed over her body. She looked to be fifteen, the same age as his younger sister. It was a little strange for him to look at her that way, but he did. He offered a small smile, the corners of his mouth just pulling up a tiny bit. Her name didn’t ring a bell in his mind, and he didn’t feel like it should have either. She certainly was pretty and clearly very confident with her actions. His eyes landed on the crest on her jumper. Ahh, so she was a Slytherin. Most others of her house found some way to mock him for something, he’d learn to adapt the whole ‘if I ignore it, then it will go away’ approach and most of the time, it worked.
Offering his hand for her to shake and a softer smile, “Hello Brooke, I’m Jesse.” He said as he looked over at her, “No not at all. I’m always one for a bit of company up here.” He gave her one of his signature crooked smiles, known to make the ladies blush. He knew how to act around the opposite sex, but he never acted on any of his feelings and by the time he did, they’d already moved on. That’s how Jesse was, he never knew how he was supposed to be when it came to being around girl. He was too shy for his own good sometimes. He took his hand back after they shook hands, shoving it back into his pocket before leaning against the railing, he chewed on his bottom lip softly.
“So Ms. Brooke, what brings you to the Astronomy Tower at this time of day?” he asked, a soft smile on his lips. Normally, he was the only one out here at this time of night. He didn’t mind the company though, he’d barely spoken with most of his school mates since he returned for the last year. He’d just been so damn busy with Quidditch try-outs coming up, getting his school schedule all figured out and oh yeah, trying to get enough sleep. Jesse sensed this would be a year where his social life was going to suffer terribly. He also wanted to find a way to send a letter to that girl again, but he knew that if she received a letter, she may be more than confused.
His blue eyes wandered back over to her, meeting her eyes for the moment, “So Ms. Brooke, why do I feel that I’ve seen you around before? I’m assuming your at least two years behind me.” He said, more or less, he was trying to find out a little more about the girl, “and I’m almost positive I’ve never seen you on a broom on the Quidditch pitch.” He smiled a bit at her, curiosity brewing into his own eyes. Perhaps this would finally be the year when he’d make the effort to get out there and meet new people. Something the incredibly shy boy was dreadful with.

Brooklynn was quite surprised to see somebody else hanging out in the astronomy tower. Most of her friends refused to spend their time here, but she personally loved it. The view was absolutely gorgeous. Especially when the sun was setting. It was her favorite time of day, and she often enjoyed it when she could watch from the astronomy tower. The morning's sunrise was often times just as gorgeous, if not more. She often came up here to think and relax. It was rare for her to see somebody else. It was much appreciated, though. She liked meeting new people.
As the boy offered his hand to her, Brooke shot him a genuine smile before daintily shaking his hand. "Hi, Jesse," she flushed. "It's lovely to meet you." Her cheeks a light shade of pink, Brooklynn grinned up at the obviously older boy. "Well, I'm glad that I can accompany you," she said with a bit of sass. She was obviously used to talking to boys, so it's not like she didn't know how to flirt or get along with them. But for some reason, she was a tad bit more shy than usual, which was very unlike her. Brooklynn took a few steps over to the railing and placed her hands on the cold metal bar, staring out at the sun for a moment before returning her gaze to the boy next to her. She couldn't help but feel like she had seen him around before, but she highly doubted it. He looked like he was at least a year older than herself. But, hey, anything's possible.
"Ms. Brooke?" she questioned, raising her left eyebrow quizzically. "I believe it would be Miss. There are currently no boys in the picture," she told him honestly, letting out a soft laugh. "Ahh, well... I'm not sure, really. I usually come up here to watch the sunset. It's such a gorgeous sight." Brooklynn sighed softly, biting her lip. "I suppose I could be asking you the same thing, Mr. Jesse," she teased, flashing him a toothy grin. Her smile was a genuine one as she flipped her hair over her shoulder. She didn't know what to do with herself. She wasn't nervous exactly, just a bit shy. Her gaze fell to the ground as she wasn't sure how to act around him. He wasn't one of those boys that automatically tried to get a girl in bed, something she admired about him. Which was just a bonus considering he was extremely good looking.
A soft laugh escaped her lips as he questioned where he might know her from. "I've been wondering the same thing... I'm only a fifth year, so I don't think I have any classes with you... And I'm a Slytherin, so I doubt I've seen a handsome boy such as yourself in my common room. I certainly would have remembered you," she flirted not-so-subtly. She grinned, her blue-green eyes meeting his for a moment before she blushed and looked down. She laughed, shaking her head. "I can guarantee you have never seen me on a broomstick before. I'm terrified of heights," she admitted with a slight blush finding its way to her cheeks. "But I'll go out on a whim and guess that you play Quidditch?" she asked with a smile.
